Our strory so far
A wonderfully busy and varied year at Dressing Room 5 kicked off with Some Girl I Used to Know and Denise Van Outen strutting her stuff in Leeds at the start of her UK tour, before transferring to the Arts Theatre in the autumn. Paul Michael Glaser won critical acclaim for his brilliant performance in the sensational and original production of Fiddler on the Roof, The Mousetrap continued to break box office records all over the country and the BBC Worldwide production of CBeebies Live! packed the biggest arenas in the UK at Easter time.
Wicked continued to dazzle audiences all over the country playing Milton Keynes, Cardiff, Glasgow, Leeds, Birmingham, Liverpool, Southampton and Edinburgh , the beautiful Birdsong touched hearts, the classic thriller Dial M for Murder got them pounding again, and show-stoppers Vincent and Flavia dazzled in their brand new production of Dance ‘till Dawn - before a well deserved London transfer.
The summer saw Mark buy a flat and the office embrace it’s Irish heritage with the toe-tapping UK tour of Rhythm of the Dance, Another Country at the Trafalgar Studios as well as the wonderfully inventive one man UK tour of Morecambe. Autumn saw the creative and spine-tingling Compagnie Kafig kick of their Dance Consortium tour of Boxe Boxe – a fusion of hip hop and boxing never seen before, The Ocotonauts blasted off on a undersea adventure from Dartford, whilst the Regents Park Open Air production of To Kill a Mockingbird opened to packed houses in Canterbury.
Winter saw preparations well underway for the 2015 shows, whilst managing to cram in a venue trip to France to see Cirque Elioze in Toulouse , as well as The Snow Dragon opening at St James Theatre and some panto fun with Aladdin at The Shaw Theatre. All this happening whilst Peppa Pig continued to storm the country playing 78 venues – from Crewe to Clacton-on-Sea - and over 415 performances, before arriving at The Criterion Theatre in the West End, where she smashed their box office records for the third consecutive year.
